the eleventh month
One month until Asa is one! We’re definitely in denial over here.
He is moving and grooving. He got the hang of crawling really quickly and pretty much immediately started pulling up on EVERYTHING. We’re proud of him but also like WOAH dude you just started crawling, give us a second.
He has his front 4 teeth now and has 2 more top teeth on the way!
He’s learned to wave but will only break it out occasionally and will sometimes clap instead of wave, which is still cute.
He’s getting some curls on the back of his head and the sides above his ears!
He still loves music: anything with a good beat. He also loves to drum on everything. One of his favorite pasttimes is pulling up on the coffee table and slap-drumming on the top.
He’s a huge fan of anything he’s not supposed to have (shoes, cords, etc) but we’ve compromised on empty packaging. He loves his empty Costco salt container.
He said his first word! He started mimicing us saying “uh-oh” when he’d drop something (which is frequent) and will now drop/throw things and say it on his own! It usually comes out as “AHH-ooooooh” and sometimes the “ooooh” is so low you can barely hear it.
He gets a little scared at loud noises, when I had a cold he did NOT like it when I blew my nose. So that was fun.
He’s mostly eating really well! Just trying to combat some pickiness and his constant desire to throw food. He’s finally gotten to the point where he will eat his eggs about half the time, but we still give them to him every morning. We are GOING to make fetch happen.
He loved mushrooms for a couple weeks, but then decided he didn’t like them. His favorite food by a LONG shot is a strawberry. It’s to the point that we have to give it to him separate from his meal or he will only eat the strawberry. He also LOVES spaghetti. (I’m noticing a trend here, maybe he just likes red foods). He ate nearly an entire Chick-fil-A kid’s meal on his own so it seems like it’ll be fun to afford to feed him as he grows.
He figured out how to drink out of a straw and he’ll suck down any fruit/veggie pouch he’s offered! If you approach him holding any of his favorites (puffs, little bellies, pouch, etc) he’ll scream and reach for it excitedly until he’s eating it.
He likes to hold things out like the Statue of Liberty occasionally when he’s playing. It’s really cute.
