the third month

We can’t believe our little buddy is officially moving out of the newborn stage!

This month brought a few challenges as he’s becoming more aware of the world around him, but overall we’ve enjoyed seeing him grow and change!

We had a growth spurt week where he would not sleep unless it was on us and was generally fussy, but we got through it! Growing is hard work!

He looooves his Magic Merlin sleep suit (and so do we!) We got into more of a sustainable sleep routine this month and we look forward to even fewer wake ups in the future.

This boy loves to eat! Gaining lots of weight and keeps mommy on her toes to make sure he’s got enough!

He still likes riding in the car, though he prefers to go fast and not stop, which is a little hard to accomplish in midtown ATL.

He almost always wakes up happy and giggly in the mornings! Mommy loves to watch him wake up and smile and chat with him.

He laughs and smiles constantly! Most times, if he’s fussy, he calms back down if someone comes and talks to him.

He still loves to flail his limbs and loves toys that make noise.

He will occasionally stare at his hands and flip them around and we think it’s hilarious.

We’re officially in size 2 diapers and about to size out of 0-3m and I will be very sad to leave these clothes behind :(

He had a very busy month: several family Christmases, a trip to the High Museum, a Christmas market, and baby’s first trips to Costco and Buc-ees! He seemed to prefer Costco in the moment: he giggled with delight in the food court (as do I). He did great meeting all his family and loved all the attention, even from the dogs!

He’s not as easy to get to sleep: he loves to stare at things, so sometimes we have to put a burp cloth over his eyes (we call it his sensory deprivation tank).

We are all in on the bibs between the spit up and the drool. We go through several a day.

He still loves bath time! Which is great, cause he occasionally poops himself into baths.

He’s accumulating a few nicknames, most of them from mom. Buddy, Buster, lil man, Goober, Punkin, lil guy, and Tyler likes to call him Lou. No, I don’t know why.

We love our little bud and we can’t wait to continue to see him grow and change!
