the fourth month
Our little man is four months old! And not so little!
HUGE fan of eating his hands. 24/7. He prefers his left, but either will do.
We started him on a sleep schedule on January 7 and he’s been doing SO well with it! January 8 was his first night in his crib (yes I cried). He sleeps from around 7:15p to 7a in his crib with one wake up between 2 and 5 to eat. He even did one night all the way through, 11 hours and 27 minutes (not that we were counting). He has not done it again.
Naps are a little harder. We will very occasionally get a nap that’s over an hour but he’s a big fan of the 30-40 minute nap. Things to see. Hands to eat.
He also rolled over, front to back (January 18)! Exactly once, not interested in doing it again. We even try to nudge him over but he’s just too steady on his arms.
We haven’t left the house much because this January weather has been brutal, but he did upgrade from his bassinet stroller attachment to the standard one and he looks so grown in it.
He LOVES the bells from the Lovevery music kit Uncle Matthew and Aunt Kendall got him (and I love to play with them too) but he doesn’t like the accordion at all. Every time I play it he cries. Maybe I am bad at it, but it’s more likely the dissonance.
He loves bouncing and flying around with Daddy, and he’s become much more chill during the day (thank you, schedule) and will usually hang with us doing whatever we’re doing without much fuss.
We moved up to 3-6m clothes (January 23) after I tried one on him and realized it fit rather well so we’d better wear these while we can! I swear the 0-3m were not that small.
Every morning, we turn on the lights in each room and tell it good morning, including looking out the window to the backyard and street. He and dad also do fit checks in the mirror after every diaper change.
He is juuuust starting to get a little more fuzz on his head! It looks blonde but we’ll see.
He still loves the bath but hates the diaper/lotion/jammies process afterward, even though we do the same thing every night. Hopefully he’s just cold and it’ll get better as it warms up outside.
I got our first set of books from the library (I was tired of reading the same ones to him over and over) and they’ve been lovely! Going to go change them out soon.
We go to the doctor in a few days, but he last weighed in at 16.1 pounds…on December 31. We’re curious to see how much he’s grown!
We love our little buddy so much and we love seeing him grow!
