the seventh month

Our buddy is the best!

He rolled over the day he turned 7 months old! I (Mom) laid him down on his back to play while I pumped like usual, and when I went back in, he was on his belly!

Still lots of babbles, grunts, yells, and feet grabbing!

We got a play pen for the living room to help keep him a little more contained. He can kick and scoot pretty well!

He got some shots this month but handled them like a champ!

We started sitting with him on a blanket out on the back patio during the evening most days. He loves looking at the trees and listening to the birds!

We haven’t made it to a proper Braves game yet, but we took him to a Braves watch party all decked out in Braves gear! He loved seeing all the people and being outside, and even tolerated the Heavy Hitters.

We went on our first hike on the Eastside Palisades trail with Aunt KK and Maple. Daddy wore him in the carrier and he had a great time!

We also started solids this month! He hasn’t been crazy about most food but is slowly warming up to some of the purees. He did tolerate some cucumber spears. His first food was peanut butter (April 1) and he was NOT a fan (but not allergic).

We collected a few new books, he loves being read to and loves to slap the books!

Daddy was in a wedding and he tagged along with Mommy for the ceremony and most of the reception! The bride and groom loved seeing him and he did great!

We tried a sippy cup but he hasn’t quite got the hang of gravity yet.

He started pretty reliably holding his own bottles though!

He watched the Artemis II launch and was mesmerized.

Lorelei came to stay one night and he LOVED all the attention!

He went in the nursery at church for the first time on April 12! He’s doing well with it!

He decided that the inside of Mommy’s hand is VERY entertaining and we have loads of video evidence.

We went to visit Sweet Mama at work and got to meet all her work friends! Asa was, of course, a hit.

He’s gotten really good at pulling off blankets/towels/burp cloths if you lay them over his face, which is great both as an adorable game of peek-a-boo and for suffocation safety.

We moved from the Merlin to sleep sacks and he’s doing great!

We had to move baths from the kitchen sink back into the bathtub because he absolutely SLAMS his legs and drenched the kitchen too many times.

Slamming his legs into the ground is one of his favorite hobbies. We have a soft pad coming in for the play pen soon!

He loves to lift his head up (like a little crunch) when you lay him down to change his diaper. He can go pretty long!

He ran his first fever right before he turned 7 months, he felt pretty puny for a couple hours but came back to his normal self in the afternoon.

He also had a truly incredible blowout the day he turned 7 months (April 30th had a lot of milestones for some reason lol).

He’s the best buddy and we can’t wait to see what he learns next month!
