the sixth month

We can’t believe it’s our buddy’s half birthday!! It’s been such an honor to have him in our lives.

He found his feet and is almost always grabbing them and rolling around!

Still no interest in rolling over, but he can scoot himself and turn around.

We have not started solids yet but will very soon!

He loves people and is the happiest baby in the world anytime we are outside the house (he’s mostly happy at home too).

Loves to babble! We had a stretch of a few days where he would wake up during the night and just have a chit chat with himself.

He loves being sung to and I sing the Doxology every night when I put lotion on him to distract him (not his favorite activity).

He loves to scratch and slap whatever he can reach.

Burp cloths are his favorite chew toys, we’re fine with that. Could be much less convenient.

Still no teeth, but those are probably just around the corner!

He pet Cook first, then Curie the next day! Just reached out and touched them. They were very good sports.

He can hold his bottles now but doesn’t quite understand gravity so you do have to hold it up for him.

We tried out the swing at the park, he was much more indifferent than anticipated. We’ll give it another shot in a couple weeks.

He’s pretty ticklish and Tyler can get some pretty big belly laughs out of him!

We got the high chair out and he’s been sitting in it when we eat every now and then.

I have to file his nails down every day and even still he manages to regularly scratch himself. I promise I try!

He loves the Animal Crossing music and also enjoys occasionally watching me play.

We started going on family walks at 8am and that’s been a great rhythm!

We got little bungee cords for Miss Sophie and other toys so they’re easily retrievable when they inevitably fall or are thrown out. Game changer.

We’re still working on sitting up on his own but he does fine in the high chair and his inflatable chairs!

Every night after his bath, I put lotion on him, and then he gets his sleeper and Merlin on and then gets his bottle. Every night. and Every night, he cries getting his Merlin on. Our best guess is that he’s anticipating the bottle.

He LOVES the lamb and sheep sounds in his Around the Farm book!

We had our first non-family members stay with him! Ansley and Nick and Reba stayed with him while he slept so we could have some date nights, we are so grateful for our village!!
