you're already a cool kid

you're already a cool kid

You are certainly the BEST thing to happen to us in 2025, but we still did some pretty cool things before you got here. We had so much fun taking you along for the ride!

in (mostly) chronological order

first snow!

I was technically pregnant but we didn’t know yet! This was the most snow we’d had in Atlanta in a LONG time.

January 10

hawks games!

We got to go to a couple free Hawks games (one from Anna and one from Delta)! we are not basketball fans but these were surprisingly really fun.

It was VERY cold outside for the second game (we walked pretty far) and I was so scared you were going to freeze! I really bundled up and dad made fun of me but we made it.

January 14 &
February 20

braves games!

April 4
(your first game)!

The Braves…are not very good this year. We started out 0-7 and we’re currently 16 games back. It’s fine.

But! We still went to a few games. We were at the home opener in April when Kathleen sang the anthem (she’s second from the left in the pic below), Went with all the cousins a few weeks later, and again when I got tickets (and Delta deck parking) from work.

All in all nice, but we’ll be much more excited to go when we’re better at playing baseball (and possibly better at concessions).

how the season is going

This was the first work production (but not the last) that you joined mom on!

Basically, teams of Delta employees try to pull a PLANE the fastest as a fundraiser for Relay for Life. We had a lot of activations we were responsible for and a few celebrity sightings: yes, that is Tom Brady over there. He’s very tall in person.

Dad even came to visit!

jet drag!

April 25

delta x winter olympics!

Your next work production, a week later!

They needed volunteers for the Winter Olympic Athlete Media Day to help escort athletes around Trilith Studios to each station and location of the shoot. I said SAY LESS. One of the 4 sets was a massive LED wall (same exact thing they used to shoot the Mandolorian) and it was extremely cool.

I was assigned to Jessie Diggins, who won the first ever cross-country skiing gold medal for the US, among many other cool things. I also recommend watching the video of the crazy finish of that medal race. She was so kind and fun to be around!

See that pic of the tote and shoes I’m carrying? Both hers, inside the bag is THAT GOLD MEDAL and a silver and bronze too! Yes I touched them so I guess technically you did too.

This was just a few days before we found out that you’re a boy, and that excitement rubbed off on Delta employees and olympic athletes alike. Up and coming snowboarder Bea Kim (18 years old) followed me on Instagram to make sure she didn’t miss any of your journey!

I also got to meet the Shib Sibs!!

Some of the content is up on instagram now!

May 2

It’s become a fad in the last few years to do a babymoon: one last trip together before the baby comes. Often somewhere relaxed and tropical or overseas.

Well, you will come to learn that relaxed and tropical really isn’t our vibe. Our vibe for this year was as cheap as possible. And we had PLENTY of baseball parks still on the list, so we went to St. Louis and had a blast! This was also your first (and second) flight(s)!

st. louis!

May 15-21

We could see the arch from our hotel window and were about a 10 minute walk from Busch Stadium. We hung out in the Cardinals Museum (during a pretty damaging tornado) and got to hold the bats and WS rings of some Cardinal greats. We went up in the arch, toured Busch Stadium, went to a game, went to the Zoo (that’s where we got your penguin), Art Museum, Science Center, Economy Museum, the Build a Bear Bearquarters, the Chess Hall of Fame, my first time at a casino (I did not care for it) and the Rawlings Experience. We also ate a lot of BBQ and went to Sugarfire 3 times.

heritage tee shoot!

The day after we got back from St. Louis, I helped shoot some Delta Centennial merch. Usually, as you’ve seen, there’s a big budget for these things with photographers and fancy lights and models, but this time all we had was $90 for a chair, me, Aaliyah, and our cameras.

We (your Aunt Dawn and I) started planning right before I left and knocked it out in a day! Our coworkers modeled and I edited the photos, which ended up on the Delta Instagram (not planned).

A lot of people were really psyched about these photos and you were along for the ride!

May 22

bcrf!

Sometime in June, I found out I was going to be art directing the photo portion of the BCRF shoot out in Oregon! Delta has partnered with BCRF for 20 years, so they wanted to do something bigger and bolder than usual.

Our team and 7 employees who had survived breast cancer went out to Oregon and shot photos and a video about their experience. They all loved you and required constant updates!

We were at a ranch outside of Sisters in a field with a little pond frequented by bald eagles and wild horses. It was a really nice trip, but I really missed your dad!

July 6-11

all star village!

Atlanta finally got to host the All Star Game this year! Dad and I didn’t get to go to the Home Run Derby or the All Star Game, but we did go to All Star Village! We got some cool merch and made those baseball cards at the beginning of this page.

It was crowded and cell Service was not great but we still had a good time!
